Description
Inspired by a technology-free getaway on Hurricane Island (off the coast of Maine), Off the Grid celebrates the natural rhythm that comes from slowing down. With syncopated slipped stitches and steady color changes, this graphic shawl is a soothing – and visually stunning – knit. I finished the sample partway through my holiday in Maine and couldn’t wait to block it. In spite of the luxury of the yarn – I soaked it in a camp sink and laid it flat outside on giant natural slabs of granite, crossing my fingers that the pea soup fog would lift so it could dry. It remains a lovely reminder of my time in Maine, and of the need to disconnect now and then so that we can reconnect to what matters.
