This pattern is featured in the book Knit a Little by Marie Greene.

There’s just something about a grandpa sweater – especially on a child – that puts a smile on my face. With tweed yarn, grown-up buttons and sophisticated details, I imagine this cardigan on a very tiny person with a pocket watch (and they’re slightly grumpy because they woke up from their nap too early).

YARN: Chunky weight | The Hook Nook Yummy | 80% acrylic, 20% wool | 185 yards/169 meters in 100 g 280 (310, 320, 450, 520, 700, 730) yards/256 (283, 293, 411, 475, 640, 667) meters

  • US Size 7/4.5mm (24 in/60 cm) circular needle – body
  • US Size 7/4.5mm (12 in/30 cm) circular needle or DPNs – sleeves
  • US Size 6/4.5mm (24 in/60 cm) circular needle – bottom ribbing
  • US Size 5/3.75mm (24 in/60 cm) circular needle – neckline and button bands
  • US Size 5/3.75mm DPNs – sleeve cuffs
