Knit a sweater in four days? It’s true! Stillwater became known as the “4 Day Sweater” after a marathon knitting weekend, completing the entire sweater – start to finish – in four days. Worked top-down and seamless with lovely “faux” cables down the front (no cabling required!), Stillwater is an easy-to-wear favorite that you’ll knit in no time. (You can read about the 4-day knitting adventure here.)

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Sizes: 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 52)” bust. NOTE: Designed to knit your actual bust size with the finished result fitting well around the shoulders/sleeves/back (little to no ease) and a comfortable fit at the front that does not close

Gauge: 20 stitches and 24 rows over 4″ in stockinette (row gauge is as important as stitch gauge)

Worsted | Brooklyn Tweed Shelter | 140 yards per 50 g | Targhee-Columbia Wool

OR

Needles*

  • US Size 6/4mm (32”) circular needle (Body)
  • US Size 4/3.5mm (40”) circular needle (Ribbing)
  • US Size 6/4mm (12”) circular needle (Sleeves)
  • US Size 4/3.5mm (12”) circular needle (Sleeve ribbing)

*NOTE: For some knitters, a size 7 needle was more appropriate for gauge. Please knit a gauge swatch and determine the best needle size for your project to get both stitch and row gauge. Sample knit in Shelter was on a size 6 needle; sample knit in Cumbria required a size 7 needle – be sure to knit a gauge swatch.
